A Valentines Day To Remember

Valentines Day in Cambodia, who would have thought?! It seems like quite the popular holiday here, there were flowers for sale on every corner (James got me some, they are beautiful) and all of the restaurants were advertising specials. We spent the morning at the national museum and the royal palace. Today we were official tourists. Both places proved to be treasure troves for pictures. It was fun. As usual though, things look good from far away and then you get close and see what a mess it is. That seems to be true for almost everything. Check out the scaffolding on the palace, can you imagine something like that propped up against the White House?? Kenden loved the royal fish and Ryan liked all the dragon statues. Lots of beautiful exotic flowers everywhere.
This evening we walked around the riverfront and then ate dinner with our friend, the tuktuk driver, Dara. It was interesting to learn more about him, we see him everyday but this is the first time we have gotten to talk at length. James promised him a Bible, I am going to try and find one in Khmer tomorrow at church. Lets all pray for Dara's salvation.

They have this coffee drink here I cant wait to share with you. I think it would be fun to have it at the May Festival. It will be a surprise for you :) You are in luck though, you will get to drink it out of cups and not out of little plastic bags! Also, you will not have to wonder if the ice is going to keep you on the pot for the next two days, or if the straw has been recycled a few times. These things are what makes each day an adventure here!

I haven't heard much about Tamara. I do know that she made it through the surgery but she is still in the hospital. I am still praying she gets out of that place soon.
Another memorable moment, James wore shorts today! I cant believe I don't have a picture of that!
